Is your hair product the genuine article?

I'm sitting in a workshop in Melbourne and I've just discovered an alarming fact. When tested, 80% of products purchased from unverified sources (non professional salons and online sites) were fakes. They look and smell the same. But they're not. Support your local business. For the sake of a couple of bucks wouldn't you rather keep your stylist in business and be secure in the knowledge your purchasing the genuine article?

Thanks. Rant over.

Melbourne, you look like china from here

Today I flew into Melbourne. I'm here for a four day redken artists conference. Once a year we all git the gither to brush up on our presentation skills (yes, that was an intentional pun). I look out the window on the way downstairs for the first meet and greet and this is what I see. For a fleeting moment I thought I was in china. But I'm not.

Be of love a little more careful than of anything

Today I'm in Sydney. Shooting lingerie. Luckily for you, the team as anyone that might see the pictures I'm not wearing the lingerie. This is on the wall in the studio...

A motto to live life and love with. Happy Straya day for yesterday.

Part of being a great hairstylist is having the charm and good looks of Chuck Norris along with the ability to endure gruelling and rigorous training.

For the past three days I've been in Auckland running a hairdressing bootcamp for the elite stylists of the Rodney Wayne artistic team.

The bootcamp is a high intensity three day training session covering hairdressing fundamentals, facilitation skills, and fashion industry inside knowledge.

Today, two of the girls (at their own behest) blindfolded two of the boys and had them try and recreate the look they just taught.

There's one more day to go.

Hmmm...

Wonder what'll happen tomorrow!

Sensational! Thanks Telecom.

Jane Anderson from Christchurch writes

Human beings seem to be dissatisfied by nature.

So often in business the only feedback we get is about ways we could improve our service or offering.

Which makes it all the more special to receive a compliment unsolicited...

The Rodney Wayne support office received this from a very satisfied client in Christchurch.

Thanks Jane. You rule.

Dear Rodney

I hope this reaches you personally as owner of Rodney Wayne.

This is a bouquet for the Hornby Branch inChristchurch.

The lovely Sandra, Amber and Tarryn.

I have been going for just on a year to your store after a word of mouth recommendation, being greeted by Sandra, Amber who does my hair which always looks fabulous and newly employed Tarryn.

Walking in a year ago a rather nervous 53 year old I have to say,  I didn’t realize being greeted like a queen, having your hair coloured, treated,  cut, blow dried and straightened and walking out like  a Princess could be as much fun as what it is.

And of course the wine.

Not very often do we here the lovely things that lovely people do and how they make their customers feel, instead of just thinking about it I thought I would email you and let you know, and I know that there are many more who feel like I do.

Whilst they are all trained in their profession, the customer service has never faulted in the year of going and my husband who goes there also has the same feeling.

I am always treated like I am their only customer and with our wee City broken ( at the moment ) sometimes the customer service has gone by the boards. Not in RW case at Hornby.

I would appreciate it if you could give these lovely ladies a call just to let them know how valued they are and how much I appreciate being treated like a princess every time I go in.

Fleet Foxes at Sydney Opera House

The show has just this minute finished. The acoustics were phenomenal and the band were loving it. It suited their harmonic style beautifully. It was the keyboard player's birthday. I didn't get a slice of his cake.
